• Comment to those looking at my sermons: I seek to always preach on topics that God has dealt with me about. All of my messages are alliterated. That?s just a device that works well for me. My goal is to bring people down to the real issue of their relationship with God.
• Family: I am married to former Shirley M. Brown of Union, MS. We have been married for over thirty-nine years. We have no children. My wife has always served with me in the churches to which we’ve ministered, either as pianist, organist, or Sunday School teacher. She has been and is a great asset to me.
• What my parents think of my sermons: My parents were in agreement with the messages that they heard. My mother made the comment once that I always had a message from God. Needless to say, that was encouraging.
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Shirley is extremely supportive and encouraging. She has often complimented and discussed many of my sermons. She sometimes comments as to how a message might be improved.
• Best advice given to me about preaching: "Stand Up, Speak Up, Shut Up"
• Books that have had an impact: "Why Revival Tarries," by Leonard Ravenhill
• Hobbies: I enjoy computing and rock polishing. May 12, 2011 I became the author of "Meditations of the Heart: Thoughts on the Christian." This book is both devotional and exegetical in its approach to various topics of the Christian experience. • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Faith and reliance in Jesus Christ is your only hope of salvation. Salvation is by grace, through faith in a Person, not a plan or philosophy. If there has been no change in your life, then there has been no conversion. Are you sure that Christ lives in your heart, and that Heaven is your eternal home?
• What I want on my tombstone: To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
