  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: "Sirs, we would see Jesus."
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Sermon on the Mount, Sermon on the Day of Pentecost, Sermon on Mars Hill...
  • One of my favorite illustrations: John 3:16 makes a cold little boy warm, a hungry little boy full, a dirty little boy clean, a tired little boy rested and a lost little boy saved. See my message "The Gift That Keeps On Giving"
  • Family: Wife: Rebekah Michele (Rankin), 3 Children (William Edward II, Jenna Michele, Jackson Andrew Charles), 13 Neices and Nephews, Millions of Brothers and Sisters in the Family of God
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My Dad, who went home to be with the Lord in July of 2002, told me I reminded him of his Preacher-Dad who died several months before I was born. My Mom supports me in every way imaginable, especially through her prayers.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Before she heard me for the first time she told me that she wouldn’t marry me unless I could preach. We were married four months later!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stand Up. Speak Up. Shut Up.
  • Books that have had an impact: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua...get the idea?
  • Hobbies: Preachin’, Prayin’, Singin’, Shoutin’
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: "Don’t be caught dead without Jesus."
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: My wife handed me a note that somebody had given her informing me that my fly was down. Without skipping a beat I stepped behind the pulpit, zipped up and went right on preaching.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Anchovies and extra ham! Seriously, I hope I meet the Uppertaker instead of the undertaker
