That first Palm Sunday was a day of celebrating what is, with no idea of what’s to come. People cheered for Jesus – a good teacher, a divine prophet, and a miracle worker. But they couldn’t imagine that He would be the fulfillment of a prophecy, heal sin, and show the world what love truly is. This video allows us to join in the chorus of the voices of those on Palm Sunday, celebrating what God has done and what He will do. This video is part of THE BEAUTIFUL EMPTY Easter series.

The prophet Isaiah uses the olive harvest as a metaphor to describe a coming judgment. In his description, the tree is the earth, the beating with rods is God's wrath and the falling olives are people. Isaiah’s message is two-fold, to give strong warning of judgment, but also to bring hope…there will be a remnant…a few olives will remain! The important question then is how can we be part of the remnant? In chapter 53, Isaiah reveals that salvation will come through the coming of a person—one who will take God’s wrath and punishment for sin upon himself.

As Christians, we live by a set of beliefs based on The Word of God. These beliefs shape us, move us and inspire us. But what do we do when someone believes differently than us? Do we hate them? Do we judge them? Do we ignore them? Or, do we simply love them? For Muslims, Ramadan is a sacred time of year. A time they commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammed. As Ramadan approaches, maybe it’s time for us to consider how we can share Jesus with the Muslim community. Do we share Him by hate and judgment…or do we share Him by showing His love?
