Proverbs 21
The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD;
People may be right in their own eyes,
The LORD is more pleased when we do what is right and just
Haughty eyes, a proud heart,
Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity,
Wealth created by a lying tongue
The violence of the wicked sweeps them away,
The guilty walk a crooked path;
It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic
Evil people desire evil;
If you punish a mocker, the simpleminded become wise;
The Righteous One
Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor
A secret gift calms anger;
Justice is a joy to the godly,
The person who strays from common sense
Those who love pleasure become poor;
The wicked are punished in place of the godly,
It’s better to live alone in the desert
The wise have wealth and luxury,
Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love
The wise conquer the city of the strong
Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut,
Mockers are proud and haughty;
Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin,
Some people are always greedy for more,
The sacrifice of an evil person is detestable,
A false witness will be cut off,
The wicked bluff their way through,
No human wisdom or understanding or plan
The horse is prepared for the day of battle,
