DARE TO COMMIT

Key Scripture: Rom 6:13 (Living Bible), 12:1 (God’s Word)

“Give yourselves completely to God- every part of you- for you have been brought back to life, and you want tools in the hands of God, used for His hood purpose

Romans 12:1 (GW)

1 Brothers and sisters, in view of all we have just shared about God's compassion, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you.

Let’s speak about five commitments that we need to make in the Church

1. In order for my faith to be strengthened I need to get together with others in WORSHIP at Word and Life Church

1.1 Isa 40:31 (NIV)

Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.

1.2 Psa 100:2 (NLT)

“Worship the Lord with gladness! Come before Him, singing with joy!”

2. If I want to discover who I am and what my purpose in life is, i need to connect myself with others through COMMUNITY.

2.1 Rom 12:4-5 (Msg)

“We are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from Christ’s Body as a whole, not the other way around. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of His body. But as a chopped off finger or cut off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we?”

2.2 Eph 2:16 (Msg)

“Christ brought us together through His death on the cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility.”

2.3 2 Cor 5:18-19

“Now God has reconciled us to Himself and has given us the ministry of reconciliation and the message of reconciliation.”

3. In order to develop my potential I must learn from others to grough through SMALL GROUP

3.1 Eph 4:16 (NLT)

‘Christ’s body is fitted TOGETHER perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow.

4. If I want to experience significance I must join with others by getting INVOLVED

4.1 1 Peter 4:10 (GW)

Each of you as a good manager must use the gift that God has given you to serve others.

4.2 Mark 8:35 (GW)

Those who want to save their lives will lose them. But those who lose their lives for me and for the Good News will save them.

4.3 Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (GW)

Two people are better than one because {together} they have a good reward for their hard work.

If one falls, the other can help his friend get up. But how tragic it is for the one who is {all} alone when he falls. There is no one to help him get up.

Again, if two people lie down together, they can keep warm, but how can one person keep warm?

Though one person may be overpowered by another, two people can resist one opponent. A triple-braided rope is not easily broken.

When we work together:

1. Our IMPACT is maximized (V 9)

2. Our FAILURE is minimized (V 10)

3. Our RESOURCES are mobilized (v 11)

5. If I want to make a difference that matters eternally, I need to join with others on MISSION

Matt 28:19

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to do everything I have commanded you

2 Cor 8:3, 5 (Msg)

“They gave beyond their ability... far more than they could afford. What explains it was that they had firstly given themselves unreservedly to God. The other giving simply flowed out of the purposes of God working in their lives.”
