Summary: God’s wonderful testimony

THY WONDERFUL TESTIMONIES

PSALMS 119:129~136

THY TESTIMONIES vs.129

Are wonderful (Think about all the great things God has done for us since the time of creation and what we will have in heaven with Jesus. Also think about all the times the Children of Israel turned their backs on God, and God still showed mercy. Think also on all the times he has shown mercy to us when we never deserved it. (Rom. 5:8)

Creation. John 1:3

Christ’s Death, Burial and Resurrection

Salvation So Freely Given

God’s mercy for his Children

Rewards in Heaven

Return of Christ

He gave us His word (Holy Bible)

Therefore doth my soul keep them

I John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Psalms 119:146 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.

Our Testimony for God, Showing Jesus in our lives.

Our live is an open book for others to see. We may, and will effect others walk with God.

2 Cor 3:1-3

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

The Bible tells us we should have a good testimony

I Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

THE ENTRANCE OF THY WORD vs.130-131

The entrance -- literally, "opening"; God’s word as an open door, lit in light, or knowledge. "The opening up" or "explanation of thy word" To the natural man the doors of God’s Word are shut. Luke 24:27,31; Acts 17:3; Ephesians 1:18 These scriptures confirm this view, "opening (that is, explaining) and alleging or confirm the fact."

Giveth Light

Psalms 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Luke 1:77-79

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 5:13-14

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Giveth understanding to the simple

Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Ps 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Prov 1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Prov 1:22-23

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
