THE BENEFACTOR DISPLEASED -

1 O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased;

The Source of Judgment - 1 O God

The Severity of Judgment - thou hast cast us off

The Sign of Judgment - thou hast scattered us,

The Sense of Judgment - thou hast been displeased;

THE BROKENNESS DECLARED -

1 O turn thyself to us again. 2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

The Conviction - 1 O turn thyself to us again.

The Confession - 2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: The Correction - 2 heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh. THE BITTERNESS DRUNK -

3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

The Requisite of Correction - thou hast made us to drink

The Result of Correction - the wine of astonishment.

THE BANNER DISPLAYED -

4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

It's Provision - 4 Thou hast given a banner

It's People - to them that fear thee,

It's Purpose - that it may be displayed

It's Proclamation - because of the truth.

It's Protection - Selah

THE BELOVED DELIVERED -

5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

The Strategy of Salvation - 5 That thy beloved may be delivered

The Strength of Salvation - save with thy right hand The Strain of Salvation - and hear me.

THE BELONGINGS DIVIDED -

6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

His Allies - Canaan

6 I will divide Shechem - The dividing of Canaan is given by locations.

First, "Shechem" This represents the western part of Canaan.

Second, "Succoth" This represents the eastern part of Canaan.

Third, "Gilead" territory east of the Jordan that was given to Israel.

Fourth, "Manasseh" This tribe had portions on both sides of Jordan.

Fifth, "Ephraim" northern kingdom composed of many Ephraimites.

Sixth, "Judah is my lawgiver" Judah is the tribe that provides the rulers of Israel, especially is it the tribe that provides Jesus Christ

His Enemies - Contempt - 8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

THE BARRENNESS DISCOVERED -

9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? 10 Wilt not thou,

O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man

Edom Defeated - 9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? Enemies Defeated - 10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

Adversity Defeated - 11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

THE BOLDNESS DEMONSTRATED -

12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. Our Sovereign - Through God

Our Success - we shall do valiantly:

Our Salvation - for he it is that shall tread down our enemies
