Summary: This outline sets forth the truth that praise is the noblest act of worship which prepares our hearts to serve Him and effectively witness of His love to the world.

THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Hebrews 13:15

A new year suggests a new start, thus this time of the year we give thought to making resolutions designed to enrich and better our lives. No resolution will enrich our lives spiritually as that to praise God continually.

I. PRAISE; THE NOBLEST ACT OF WORSHIP!

Praising God involves the recognition of who He is…Almighty God!

“Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22.

Praising God involves the recognition of what He has done!

“O Lord, Thou art my God. I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy name, for Thou hast done wonderful things.” Isaiah 25:1.

Praising God involves the recognition of what He is doing!

“For Thou art great and doest wondrous deeds…” Psalm 86:10.

Praising God involves the recognition of what He will do!

“He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” Psalm 145:19.

II. RESOLVE TO PRAISE GOD CONTINUALLY.

Because He is our God: “Thou art my God, and I will praise Thee; Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.” Psalm 118:28

Because He is worthy of our praise: “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” II Samuel 22:4.

Because praise glorifies God: “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:23.

III. PRAISE: THE DOOR TO GOD’S CHOICEST BLESSINGS!

“Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:1-3.

“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to Thy holy name, to triumph in Thy praise.” Psalm 106:47.
