The Restoration of Israel begins with Revival among the dry bones.

Ezekiel 37:1 – The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

In the Spirit, it was a valley of dry bones. In the spiritual realm, the Spirit of the Lord took Ezekiel to a valley of dry bones.

In the physical, these dry bones are the people of Israel dispersed across the world. They are now living as dry bones cut off from God’s blessings, having lost all hope, courage, and identity.

These dry bones are also the gentiles who are living in the dead state without any hope.

This was the shape of Israelites for last 2000 years. Dry bones were not dead bones but are in dead state without life and hope.

Why did these bones become dry?

1) God does not talk to the dry bones – God speaks to Ezekiel, and Ezekiel repeats what God says to him. God does not speak directly to the dry bones but by the prophet Ezekiel. The Bible’s repeated use of the same sentences indicates that the Israelites and God are far apart. God was only speaking to the prophet in the middle of dry bones but not to the bones. Only the prophet was being addressed by God while the dry bones themselves were being ignored. There was a direct communication between the prophet and God. God’s voice was inaudible to dry bones. We can turn into dry bones if God doesn’t speak to us personally for a while. When God does not speak directly for some time we can become dry bones.

2) They lost the ability to hear God’s voice – Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!’” (Ezekiel 37:4). The majority of prophesies in the Bible are crisp and go right to the point. God emphasized the need to hear the word of the Lord. Dry bones have lost the ability to hear God’s voice. Their senses are not responding to God’s voice. God’s voice is not being perceived by their senses. God had to explicitly say Hear, I am about the speak. Pay attention and hear what I am about to speak. Dry bones this is the time to pay attention and hear the word of the Lord. When they listened, then the Lord did something truly miraculous—he provided a solution to every one of their issues and led them to the promised land.

Sequence of Resurrection of the dry bones in this prophesy

1) The sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them – When they heard the Lord’s word, this caused the sinews and flesh to develop, joining the bones together, and the skin to cover them.

The formation of sinews (soft tissues) – Knowledge and understanding about Jesus forms this soft tissues

Flesh came upon them – By hearing and obeying the word of the Lord, the flesh is formed.

Skin covered them – The cross of Jesus covers them

2) Then the breath came in these bodies – Breath, come from the four winds and breathe into these slain. The breath of God descends/comes on the bodies formed by the word of God and covered by the blood of Jesus. Revelation 7:1 – After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, restraining the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. These dried bones received breath from the four winds that came from the four corners of the earth. Four winds cover the entire earth and cover entire humanity.

Four powerful angels are needed to stop the four winds. Imagine how much magnitude and power is needed stop these four winds. God sends this much high magnitude four winds into these dry bones. Breath of God is the Holy Spirit. God sends a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit equal to magnitude of these four winds. It’s like 10000 thunder bolt magnitude outpouring of Holy Spirit on these dry bones. When this much magnitude of four winds come, the dry bones will automatically live. When four winds with this much life-giving power blows, these bodies immediately come to life.
