Summary: Everything that God does or says is about who He is, a God that does wonders.

God is a God that we can say this to Him, you are wonderful. All that He ever does is wonderful and awesome. It does not matter what we are going through now or what we will be gong through in the coming years, our God does wonders and He is wonderful.

God is and will always be, He does things that are amazing and whenever we look around us and we use our spiritual eyes to see what is happening in our lives, we can honestly say that we have a good God and a God that does wonders for us, in whichever way we see things, He as always shown up to help us in our weaknesses and that is awesome.

Our trust and hope should be in God that is always there for us all and a God that does not fail. He as not failed before and will not fail us now, as His beloved children. The scriptures declare the greatness of God from beginning to end. He is the creator of the earth and created us in His likeness. God is wonderful and full of wonders.

God is a God of wonders.

God who created the heavens and the earth in six days and on the seventh day, He rested. He is still the same God of the universe and still doing His wonders. The creator of the universe is the same God who is alive in us, His children - 1 Corinthians 3:16.

Let us for a second focus on the God of wonders in us, It's so overwhelmingly to think that this mighty God lives in us and always ready to do His wonders in our lives. He is the God of wonders and He said we are to call on Him in the days of our trouble and He will deliver us - Psalm 50:15 ; Job 27:10 ; Lamentations 3:55 ; 2 Samuel 22:4.

The wonders of who God is never ceases.

Let's look at some of His wonders in the Bible:

Exodus 14

The Red Sea Crossing

Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’ Then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” So he [a]made ready his chariot and took his people with him. Also, he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them. And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness. So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon.

And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation[b] of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold[c] your peace.”

And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.

We all know this amazing wonder of God, how He saved His children from slavery and how he parted the red sea for them to go through on dry ground. I believe the same God that did this is still in the work of doing wonders and like He instructed Moses His servant, He is ready to instruct us as well. There is a path that the God of wonders wants us to follow and as we follow that path, my prayer is that we will be able to hear him and obey Him in the way He chooses to direct us.

When He directed Moses on what to do, Moses acted and he got the children of God to a place of safety. Anywhere we are in life at the present moment, the God of wonders wants to help us to get to a place of refuge in Him. And lets remember that the God of wonders gave His children manna from heaven in the wilderness and they had no lack in the wilderness because of the God of wonders steeped into their lives.

Joshua 6: 1 - 21

The Destruction of Jericho

Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”

Then Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.” And he said to the people, “Proceed, and march around the city, and let him who is armed advance before the ark of the Lord.”

So it was, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the Lord advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them. The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard came after the ark, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets. Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout or make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, ‘Shout!’ Then you shall shout.” So he had the ark of the Lord circle the city, going around it once. Then they came into the camp and lodged in the camp.

And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord. Then seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets. And the armed men went before them. But the rear guard came after the ark of the Lord, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets. And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. So they did six days.

But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times. And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city! Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.”

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

The wall of Jericho came down because of the God of wonders that spoke to the children of Israelites, this wall was impossible to break through with ordinary hands but it had to come down supernaturally by the power of God. The land was occupied by the enemies of God and God wanted the land for His children to possess, and after they obeyed God they took possession of the land without any form of struggle.

There are things that are stopping us from moving forward in our lives but if we stay in His presence and be silent like the children of Israelites were quiet, we will be able to move forward in our lives. We need to let God speak and He wants to speak to us at all times, but because of the noise that is going on around us, we are not able to hear Him and this is what is causing a lot of confusion in the body of Christ today.

Jonah 1: 17

Jonah Flees From The Lord

Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 2

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. And he said:

I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction,

And He answered me.

Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,

And You heard my voice.

For You cast me into the deep,

Into the heart of the seas,

And the floods surrounded me;

All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.

Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight;

Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

The waters surrounded me, even to my soul;

The deep closed around me;

Weeds were wrapped around my head.

I went down to the moorings of the mountains;

The earth with its bars closed behind me forever;

Yet You have brought up my life from the pit,

O Lord, my God.

When my soul fainted within me,

I remembered the Lord;

And my prayer went up to You,

Into Your holy temple.

Those who regard worthless idols

Forsake their own Mercy.

But I will sacrifice to You

With the voice of thanksgiving;

I will pay what I have vowed.

Salvation is of the Lord.

So the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Jonah was a man that the God of wonders wanted to use to save His people from destruction and Jonah totally refused to do what God wanted and because of this the God of wonders commanded his whale that He created to swallow Jonah up and after Jonah repented, the God of wonders had the whale vomit Jonah unto dry lad and from there God was able to use him.

In our lives what is the God of wonders telling us to do, and we are not ready to obey Him, who knows what He is doing? God is able to command things to work out for our good at all times. He is God! and will forever be God. The wonders of God will never cease in our lives, for He is a wonderful God.

Psalm 145: 3 - 5

You are wonderful, Lord,

and you deserve all praise,

because you are much greater

than anyone can understand.

Each generation will announce

to the next

your wonderful

and powerful deeds.

I will keep thinking about

your marvelous glory

and your mighty miracles.

Psalm 107:31

You should praise the Lord

for his love

and for the wonderful things

he does for all of us.

Isaiah 25:1

You, Lord, are my God!

I will praise you

for doing the wonderful things

you had planned and promised

since ancient times.

God is a God of wonders.

Acts 16: 25 - 34

Paul and Silas

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, while the other prisoners listened. Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the jail to its foundations. The doors opened, and the chains fell from all the prisoners.

When the jailer woke up and saw that the doors were open, he thought that the prisoners had escaped. He pulled out his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! No one has escaped.”

The jailer asked for a torch and went into the jail. He was shaking all over as he knelt down in front of Paul and Silas. After he had led them out of the jail, he asked, “What must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Have faith in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved! This is also true for everyone who lives in your home.”

Then Paul and Silas told him and everyone else in his house about the Lord. While it was still night, the jailer took them to a place where he could wash their cuts and bruises. Then he and everyone in his home were baptized. They were very glad that they had put their faith in God. After this, the jailer took Paul and Silas to his home and gave them something to eat.

Just reading this will prove to us that we have a God that performs wonders and He is the same God that supernaturally opened the prison doors in the live of His children and this also shows to us that there is nothing that can hold us down when we choose to trust in God's faithfulness in our lives. God can set us free from every prison doors and there are lots of doors that keeps us locked down but there is a wonderful God that will speak and those doors will have to open of their own accord, when the God of wonders speaks from heaven.

Mark 9:31

Jesus In The Grave

For He taught His disciples and said to them, The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.

Mark 16:6

Jesus Rose

But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Now, this is the Son of God Himself and the scriptures records to us the truth that we have a God who performs wonders and till today He is in our lives, He is able to do wonders in our lives as well. God says He is able to do more than we can ask or think of, according to His power that is at work in our lives - Ephesian's 3:20.

God is a good God and full of wonders. We are to believe in Him always and hope for the best in our lives at such a time as this. Because we have Him in our lives as the God of wonders we are not to live in fear, the situation we are in at present will always pass on and in every circumstance of life, we can rely on the God of wonders to do what only He can do for us.

Remain blessed in the presence of the God of wonders who alone can do the impossible in our lives. Amen
