Summary: People can deny you of opportunities, but when God says it is your turn in His divine arrangement, no man can stop you

IT IS YOUR TURN

The bible talks of a certain man by the pool of Bethesda, he was there for a whole 38 years expecting to have just one opportunity which I call “his turn”. Unfortunately, he never had his turn because of the nature of his own predicament because the Bible says there was multitude of them that were sick waiting for the same opportunity.

The reason for this man to have been there for 38 years, must be either of the following. First, he must have been abandoned and rejected at the pool by his family. Secondly, it might be because of his belief that solution could not come from another source except that pool.

His eyes must have been so fixed on the pool that he could not have imagined another source of out of his problems. Even when Jesus asked him, do you want to be made whole, his eyes were still on the pool, because he was not so sure of what he wanted. Instead of affirmative YES to the question Jesus asked him, he was busy telling story about the pool.

As confused as the man was, our God will ever remain a merciful God and whatever He has made up His mind to do He will surely do. Romans 9:15-16 says “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

I beg the readers of this post, please “take your eyes off the pool”. That man you are looking up to as the one to help you may not be the one to render the needed assistance. Where you think solution will come from may end up being a waste of your time and expectations. Fixing your eyes on the pool will only blindfold you from seeing several other opportunities around the pool. Proverbs 16:3 and Psalm 37:5 says “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”

God has promised that he will not rest nor hold His peace until you fulfill your destiny, until you are out of that situation. Fix your eyes on Him and not the “pool”. Isaiah 62:1-2 says “For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
