Life Change Happens

Summary: This is a sermon I preach regarding Baptism, especially when it is someone who has had major life change.
Life Change Happens!
(2 Cor 5:17)
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new Creation, the old has passes away, behold the new has come
Opening Verse –
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’ 23 Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!
Did you know that there are people who go to church every Sunday, serve on boards, nominating committees, do EVERYTHING Christian – but still aren’t?
“Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to the garage makes you a car”
– people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me
Sometimes we speak a good game, but the truth is not what comes out of our mouths.
Let me ask you this question: What about you?
• Someone else cant make you a Christian
• Going to church for someone else does not make you a Christian
• The only person that can make the decision to be a Christian is YOU!
It is a personal decision. YOU have to make it. YOU have to ask Jesus to be YOUR Lord and Savior.
It is NOT your good deeds that gets you into heaven.
It is NOT your money that gets you into heaven.
Contrary to what some may tell you: YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF!
ONLY Jesus Saves –
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
And when you belong to Jesus you are SAVED – You can proclaim it boldly, with CONFIDENCE! Jesus gives us ASSURANCE!
Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.
I can tell you 2 things:
1. If you don’t know if you are saved – YOU ARE NOT!
2. If you have doubt about your salvation– YOU ARE NOT!
Once you are saved – YOU ARE SAVED!
Charles Spurgeon - “A man is not saved against his will, but he is made willing by the operation of the Holy Spirit. A mighty grace which he does not wish to resist enters into the man, disarms him, makes a new creature of him, and he is saved.”
Right here Right NOW there is a FORK IN THE ROAD!
At the very beginning of this service we Celebrated with Baptism. Absolutely awesome!
That Baptismal is still full! If you realize that you need it – we can make it happen!
If you realize that you have never asked the Lord to be YOUR Savior – NOW is the time!
Something else: if you have not been doing what Jesus calls you to do – slid, stumbled, fell,
Have-not been leading your family, been on the side line – NOW is the time.
It’s the Fork in the Road! There is only 1 way! It’s not my way or the highway, it’s the HIS WAY, or hell way.
DON’T CLING TO PRIDE! –
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you realize right now that you need to; PLEASE DON’T LET PRIDE HOLD YOU BACK!
You are only robbing yourself!
There is nothing you need more desperately than Christ!
