To remind us of the unmatched power and might of God, His self-sufficiency, and His ability to change our circumstances.

Introduction

Good morning, church family! Have you ever really stopped to consider the unmatched power of our God? Well, today we are going to dive into Psalm 114, a beautiful passage that serves as a stirring reminder of God’s unrivaled might, His self-sufficiency, and His ability to change our circumstances.

Andrew Murray, a renowned pastor and author, wrote, “Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.” That's a powerful reminder that God doesn't need our help. He's got everything under control. He holds the universe in His hands, and yet He cares for us intimately.

Let's read Psalm 114 together. "When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back? O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs? Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water."
