Summary: Are you able to give God everything?

Do you trust God with you life?

Do you remember the movie Backdraft - You go we go - Trust

Humans don’t trust easily. We have been burned far too often.

There is an old Persian proverb that when it comes to trusting in God, it sums us up so well, which says: “Trust in God, but tie your camel.”

Humans don’t trust – 4 Scenarios

GUILT AND REGRET

We seem to always have to have a fall back plan. God says he will remove the issues of sin

through His son, can we trust that, no we continue trying to make right and yet end up carrying loads of guilt worry and regret.

WORTHLESSNESS

God says I love you and have a special place all mapped out for you to serve in my work, do we trust that, no, we make every excuse under the sun to even firstly believe that God could possibly love us, let alone want to use us. And so we put ourselves down and carry these feelings of worthlessness

CANT ACCEPT CHRIST

When all around you Christ is changing lives and you are able to witness the incredible thing that every one calls accepting Jesus Christ into your life, you just cant seem to come to grips with it being for you. You have to click NO. You just cant seem to trust this Christianity thing and the bible and what the guy says at church every week.

DIRECTION

Or maybe God is constantly showing you something, giving you the direction you need, or convicting something in you, are giving you the direction that we as humans so badly need. But because you lack the trust, you just are not quite able to follow that map that

ANYTHING BUT ACCEPT THAT GOD IS RIGHT AND WE CAN TRUST HIM. I MEAN IF YOU DON’T FULLY TRUST GOD, STOP PRAYING. WHATS THE POINT OF ASKING FOR HELP, IF WE CAN NEVER TRUST THE SOLUTIONS OFFERED?

“Let Go”:

A tourist came too close to the edge of the Grand Canyon, lost his footing and plunged over the side, clawing and scratching to save himself. After he went out of sight and just before he fell into space, he encountered a scrubby bush which he desperately grabbed with both hands. Filled with terror, he called out toward heaven, "Is there anyone up there?" A calm, powerful voice came out of the sky, "Yes, there is." The tourist pleaded, "Can you help me? Can you help me?" The calm voice replied, "Yes, I probably can. What is your problem?" "I fell over the cliff and am dangling in space holding to a bush that is about to let go. Please help me." "The voice from above said, "I’ll try. Do you believe?" "Yes, yes, I believe."’ "Do you have faith?" "Yes, yes. I have strong faith." The calm voice said, "Well, in that case, simply let loose of the bush and everything will turn out fine." There was a tense pause, then the tourist yelled, "Is there anyone else up there?"

What does it mean to trust?

Webster: Basic dependence on someone or something, Belief that something will happen or someone will act is a prescribed way

Trust is found in our unswerving belief that the God of Heaven will indeed work on our behalf to bring His perfect will for our lives into being

So Why Should We Trust Him?

He’s aware of us.

The word of God say’s in Matt 6:8 that our Heavenly Father knows what things we have need of even before we ask Him. Isn’t it good to know that we have a God that is omniscient or all knowing? That’s the first reason why you should trust Him, because He already knows everything about you. You ever experienced that. He does it before it needs doing?

He’s Concerned

1 Peter 5:7 says cast, which means to throw, your cares, anxieties and worries on Him because He cares about you. Yes He cares about you! Whatever concerns you concerns Him. So whenever you’re faced with problems, situations and obstacles that seem insurmountable just throw them on Him, He can handle them.

You can throw them on him because he died for those things you should be throwing at him. So this morning I say throw that anxiety onto him. Trust that it will be a priority on the most high’s to do list.

He’s Consistent

This means He’s faithful and you can also count on Him and trust Him to do exactly what He say’s He will do every single time, even if others let you down and or found to be unreliable God will never let you down, you can always rely on Him. 1 Cor 1:9 say’s that God is faithful. So even we are unfaithful to God, God remains faithful to us.
