Summary: Can God save America? Yes He can! But He will go about it in His way, revival, Biblical revival is what we need in America today, but he will not start with the unsaved but His own. Let us find out what we need to do for the revival that America needs.

Introduction

-Jesus warned us that in end times there would be wars and rumors of wars. According to the JCTV show Ask God, one person per minute dies in wars in the world today. That is men, women, children, all of the soldiers and the “collateral damage.”

-The Bible warns us abortion is murder. Since 1973 over 47.000,000 babies have been butchered in the name of “freedom”, and it averages 1 in four deaths is an abortion.

-The Bible says blessed is the nation whose Lord is God, but according to our President, Barak “Insane” Obama:

Obama, June 28, 2006 (as delivered): Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation – at least, not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.[i]

It is amazing how far we have fallen from the times of the Pilgrims and the Mayflower compact till now:

In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, etc.

Having undertaken, for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern Parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together into a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini 1620[ii]

Can God save America? Yes, but He will not start there.

Where Does God Begin?

Judgment

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; (2 Chronicles 7:13)

-He begins with judgment. No rain: a judgment of sin, Locust devouring the land, a judgment of Egypt, Pestilence: but the call does not go out to the world.

A Call to His People

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

-If My People Who Are Called by my Name

This referred to Israel in the Old Testament no doubt, but whom now bears the name of the Lord God in their hearts and souls: The Christian, think about it even the name Christ-an means “little Christ.”

So the main question is: are we His? Are we even attempting to fulfill all the things God wants for us? Are we living the normal Christian life or the nominal Christian life? (Nominal means in name only). Do we take the name of God in vain by claiming to be His while just doing our own thing? We need to choose, will we serve God or man?

Because God gives us a choice here, we do not have to do any of this, He does say if: if my people. We have a choice in front of us just as God had given to the children of Israel many years ago:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Deuteronomy 30:19)

We need to choose. Choose what kind of life we want, what kind of nation we want.

-Shall Humble Themselves

If we refuse to humble ourselves we are without hope.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7)

Humble-NT:5013 tapeinoo (tap-i-no’-o); from NT:5011; to depress; figuratively, to humiliate (in condition or heart): KJV - abase, bring low, humble (self).[iii]

If we humble ourselves, put ourselves under the authority of God He will lift us up but if we insist on doing it all by our ourselves and for our own glory God will not interfere with our will. He resists the proud but He will lift up the humble.
