Summary: The Blessed Man

Psalm 1 The Blessed Man 1. Happy in His Dedication - 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. He Is :-

(a) Careful In His Step - walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly

(b) Cautious In His Stand - nor standeth in the way of sinners

(c) Conscious In His Seat - nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2. Happy in His Deliberation -

i. His Passion for the Word - 2 his delight is in the law of the LORD

ii. His Perusal of the Word - and in his law doth he meditate

iii. His Perception of the Word - day and night.

3. Happy in His Determination -

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

i. His Prominence "like a tree"

ii. His Permanence "a tree planted"

* Implies; Being Chosen; Cultured; Cultivated

iii. His Position "by the rivers of water"

iv. His Productivity "bringeth forth his fruit in his season - Psa 92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; 15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him

v. His Preservation "his leaf also shall not wither"

vi. His Prosperity "and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

4. Happy in His Distinction -

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

No Hope, No Home, No Host.

5. Happy in His Destination - 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

i. The Divine Perception - For the LORD knoweth

ii. The Divine Protection - the way of the righteous:

iii. The Divine Provocation - but the way of the ungodly

iv. The Divine Proclamation - shall perish.
