About Howard
  • Education: Graduate of Theology from Baptist Bible College,Springfield Mo.- B.S. in Management from Southern Wesleyan University- Currently working on Master of Divinity at Liberty University.
  • Experience: Church Planter and Pastor in Buffalo, NY- Worked in Mission Church in Bronx, NY- Ten Years working with Singles in Charleston, SC- Founded and led a Ministry called Saturday Night Singles.- Pastor Ladson Baptist for 6 years.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: All the different aspects of God’s Grace.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: There is an ocean of God’s grace out there but most of us only run around in the surf getting our feet wet and think we’re swiming in God’s Grace. Most of the time we limit grace to salvation but that is only the begining of grace for the Christian. The ocean of God’s Grace is miles deep and most of us rarely get above our ankles in it.
  • Family: Wife, JoAnn and a daughter Rachel
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She rates them on a scale from one to ten. I’ve only ever gotten one Ten.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: If you don’t strike oil in thirty minutes - quit drilling.- Advice from old preacher, "When I perform an operation I leave a scar. When God performs the operation, he doesn’t leave a scar."- Don’t try to convict people; just preach the truth. Let God do the convicting.
  • Books that have had an impact: Book by Dwight Hervey Small on God’s Renewing Grace. Iv’e read dozens of books on grace and relating subject. This is the greatest. It’s currently out of ptint.- Joshua by Theodore Epp, Back to the Bible. Also out of print.
  • Hobbies: Computer and reading
  • What I want on my tombstone: He received Grace and he offered Grace.
